Insane Force Gearing Guide - Beginner to Storymode Operations

If you don't care too much about how your character looks while leveling to end game, then we suggest the following:

Level 10+ Fresh Character

Fleet > Supplies > Outer Window Section > Left Side > Adaptive Gear Vendor

Grab yourself a basic gear set from that vendor - adaptive gear for which the armorings, mods and enhancements can be stripped and replaced every 4-8 levels. Every 4-8 levels, do exactly that - replace the mods via the vendors on fleet. As you level, you will receive boxes of gear - specifically from heroics - equip the earpieces, implants and relics from those.

Level 75 Non-Geared Character or with Story 268 Gear

Treasure Hunting > Grade 10 and Grade 11 Lockbox Missions

Run these missions about 20-30 times. Put on as much Blue 276 gear as you can get and the least amount of Green 274 gear as is possible. Then run a few storymode flashpoints and a bunch of heroics as well as the latest storyline until you hit Level 80.

Level 80 Speed Gearing

Treasure Hunting > Grade 11 Lockbox Missions

If you haven't already, put on whatever 320+ gear you receive or already have from earlier.

Fleet > Supplies > Outer Window Section > Right Side > Conquest Gear Vendor

If you are fortunate to have enough Conquest Commendations - you can straight up buy a full set of 324 Green Noble Decurion Gear.

Fleet > Supplies > Outer Window Section > Right Side > Lonndar Eadwinn (Fat Twi'lek)

Pick up the mission "Wait a Minute".

Turn in mission - you'll find out what you need to do.

Then, do the following:
Your goal is to get one each of the following: Use the correct tokens or currency to upgrade ONE blue body piece to 340 and ONE purple body OR accessory piece to 340.

Fleet > Supplies > Outer Window Section > Middle Right > Hyde & Zeek (Right Wall)

Pick up the correct missions from Hyde & Zeek on Fleet. Deconstruct those pieces. Report back to Hyde & Zeek.

Once you have done this, you now have access to 340 BLUE armorings and mods and 340 PURPLE enhancements from Hyde & Zeek.

Fill up an adaptive gear set with those 340 mods and get right back to running Veteran Mode flashpoints and operations for Earpieces and Relics. Upgrade those Earpieces and Relics to Level 344 as soon as you can. All the while keep grinding away at getting your first two BiS implants to 340 using your tech fragments.

Whatever gearing avenue you choose . . .

Use the following gearing templates as a guide while leveling your character and upgrading your gear.:

Following the above templates will keep your character properly geared for his or her specification.

Level 80 - Fine Tuning Your Character - The Global Cooldown

If you want to maximize your DPS or EHPS per your rotation for PVP, veteran and master mode flashpoints or for storymode and hardmode operations, you need to commit your character to a global cooldown tier. There are no graduations - you have to commit your character to a desired tier and for that you have to commit a certain amount of alacrity points for each tier - there are no in-betweens. Either your character is at a targeted tier, or it is not.

See the following page and included chart for further explanations, how to test and some character examples:

Level 80 - Getting A Return On Investment For Your Character

Finally, if you are in the current endgame gear, which is currently 344 gear and 300 augments, and you are frustrated that someone in much lower gear and using older augments is putting out the same DPS or HPS as you OR you just don't feel like you are getting the numbers you should be getting, the following is comprehensive guide offering a combination of tips to bring about a considerable improvement in your character's performance. You put a considerable investment into your character. Why settle for less when just a few minor changes, minimal effort and a few habits can easily result in an increase of 2000-7000 DPS or HPS?
